Faster, on-time payment
A timely reminder with a one-tap link to your payment page converts a forgotten notice into a paid citation before penalties and collections costs pile on.
TheTrafficApp is a consent-based, read-only notification layer that reminds residents about their parking and camera citations and links them straight to your official payment site. More on-time payments, fewer escalations to collections, and less phone volume for your staff — at little or no cost to the agency.
The problem we solve for you
People don't refuse to pay — notices get lost in the mail, arrive late, or land while someone is busy. By the time they surface, late fees have doubled the balance and the case is heading to collections or a registration hold.
A timely reminder with a one-tap link to your payment page converts a forgotten notice into a paid citation before penalties and collections costs pile on.
Residents self-serve their citation status instead of calling or emailing staff, cutting routine inquiry volume.
Residents feel looked after rather than ambushed by fees — the same reason cities adopt e-notification programs.
How a pilot works
A narrow, low-risk pilot that keeps your enforcement and payment systems exactly as they are.
Pick one citation type and one program (for example, parking or camera citations) for a 60–90 day pilot.
Where an open-data or API feed exists, we read citation status only. Nothing we do can alter your official record.
Consented residents get reminders and are sent straight to your official portal to pay. You keep the payment relationship.
Review on-time payment lift, support deflection, and adoption, then choose whether to expand or stop.
The bigger opportunity
The highest-value version of this is a permission-based data partnership with an agency or vendor.
A resident explicitly authorizes us to monitor their records — a clear consent and DPPA permissible-use basis captured at sign-up, not scraping around anyone.
When a notice is registered to a driver who has authorized us, we can surface both camera/moving citations and parking/non-moving citations in a single reminder.
The agency collects more, sooner, with fewer escalations; the resident avoids late fees and holds. We are the notification layer in between — not a collector.
Data insights
Sample snapshots we've built from jurisdictions' own open data — the same analysis we'll run for yours.
$2.88M in unpaid parking citations across 45,404 records — 45% never paid, with $42,710 already written off to bad debt.
1.27M citations worth $130M in 2024, with 208,000 repeat plates driving 76% of all citations — the reach a reminder layer would cover.
$1.7 billion outstanding across 147.7M citations — including $320M in unpaid school-zone speed-camera tickets alone.
Where we fit
The citation and camera-enforcement industry (Verra Mobility, Conduent, and similar) is built to serve the agency side — issuing, processing, and collecting. Almost no one is built for the driver. That gap is our lane.
Enforcement vendors and payment processors run the back office. We sit on top as the resident-facing reminder layer — no overlap with, or threat to, your existing contracts.
Drivers have no single place to see and pay everything they owe across jurisdictions. We start there — a product residents actually want — and that adoption is what makes the agency reminders effective.
Whether your citations run through eTIMS, an open-data feed, or another vendor, we read public status and route residents to your official payment page.
What we are — and are not
A resident-consented reminder and lookup layer that routes people to your official systems, keeps your record authoritative, and is read-only.
We do not pursue debts, add our own penalties, or take enforcement action. We remind and route — nothing more.
We never take citation payments ourselves. The resident pays you directly on your official page.
Tell us the city, county, or agency and we'll send a scoped outline, a trust & compliance overview, and a suggested first step. Pilots start at no cost to the agency.
